Re: deck wash pickup this might sound odd, but i just fitted up a bilge pump on the outside under the waterline and have a hose from that to a garden hose (flexible) with a stopcock fitting and a garen hose spray head.. The thing with not having it facing forward is when travelling back to the ramp we slow down a tad and wash the boat down on the way in, with the straight type i dont think it would pick up water to well on the move.. Deck wash pumps feed freshwater to a hose gun for spraying salt water off your boat following a trip on the water. without one, you'll see a build-up of salt which can damage the metal fittings on your boat via corrosion and also permanently stain your windows..
Deck & anchor wash pumps too much pressure can damage paintwork and other surfaces; too little pressure won't shift the dirt. jabsco pressure-controlled deck wash pumps generate a vigorous jet of water to wash away mud and slime without damage to the surface underneath.. Whitworths sell deck wash kits possibly worth a look. on the boat i just brought it has a rule 2000 bilge pump bolted on the transom pumps a fair stream of water out of a 25mm pipe. i haven't used it slot yet but it seems to work well. it's not a jet but more like a high volume of water.. Installing a deckwash pump. by don casey. sluicing the cockpit with buckets of water after boating a fish is a poor second to hosing it clean. and bringing a builder's acre of muck aboard when you haul up the anchor is a lot less irritating when you can repatriate it immediately with a powerful water jet..
