Boat building requires enough space, under cover, so that the builder can easily move around the hull during construction, or the boat can be built on a trailer so the hull can be moved out of the shelter for construction sessions.. Due to space limitations, the frames were assembled on a platform built over the keel. since the framing platform covered the keel in the middle of the boat, those frames were assembled last and set aside until all frames were completed and the framing platform could come down.. Hull and frames design for 'hogging' introduction. usually there is no construction drawing available for old wooden boats. to still be able to get a line plan of the hull and frames down on paper the main dimensions of the boat have to be obtained, even if the boat is usually weakened and deformed..
